About us:
The Lab of Medical Physics and Digital Innovation is dynamic, interactive community, and consists the largest laboratory within the Health Sciences Faculty and one of the largest of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, considering the number of researchers employed and the number of projects, funding and overall academic work production. The mission of the Lab is to excel in training and multi-disciplinary research in a setting that fosters creativity and synergy. The Lab is pioneering in research fields such as assistive technologies for health and wellbeing, living labs, applied neuroscience, medical education technology and innovation, medical imaging, semantic web, affective computing and other contemporary thematic areas like brain computer interfaces and medical and social robots. It is composed of contemporary working spaces, unique for a public Hellenic University, and accommodates unique laboratory infrastructures such as a Digital Living Lab space, a Hospital based Healthcare Transitions Living Lab, a Short Arm Human Centrifuge Rehabilitation Lab, a fully equipped Neuroscience Laboratory with high density EEG, neurofeedback and MEG (soon) and other. The Lab of Medical Physics and Digital Innovation comprises of several research groups, leaders in their respective specialties, which pursue innovative research projects (https://imedphys.med.auth.gr/projects). Members of the Lab have been recognized internationally for their research excellence (see publications) and have been funded by a wide spectrum of sources.
Your role:
We are looking for enthusiastic and experienced project manager who will be responsible for managing and delivering EU-funded projects and activities in the domain of Digital Health and ICT tools.
You will be a Scientific Project Manager/ Research Associate and support the entire project lifecycle from the proposal preparation to the development and demonstration phases, primarily in the field of Medical Informatics, Health and Wellbeing as well as in ICT tools. You will also be required to research new and emerging technologies in the field as well as technology trends beyond the state of the art.
Day to Day:
- Support coordination/management activities for EU-funded and national R&I Projects.
- Being the main communication point of the coordinator for an EU-funded project.
- Defining the overall project strategy for year 3 of the project together with the project coordinators and WP leaders and assure the strategic goals are reflected in the project management plan and all actions to accomplish this plan (incl. facilitating steering committee and cross-WP meetings).

Ensuring timely and accurate documentation and communication of progress, including deliverables. Day to day monitoring of the project management plan and making adjustments as needed, in close alignment with the work package leaders and the project coordinators. Leading activities of ongoing review of progress on deliverables, completion of milestones and risk analysis and mitigation
- Managing the identified KPIs to measure outcomes and success for the project, ensuring all partners are aligned on the approach to reach these KPIs. Monitoring risk and mitigation planning which may lead to a deviation of certain KPIs.
- Monitor EU and national policy and ethical developments of relevance in the digital health domain.
- Facilitate collaboration between teams, ensure cross-team dependencies are identified and acted on, mitigate delivery risks
- Maintain, track, and update program risks, upcoming milestones, and team priorities while ensuring cross functional alignment and agreement
- Coordinate and facilitate cross functional solutions to mitigate risks, keeping development commitments on track
- Identify project constraints, their impact, and develop mitigation plans
- Plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Build & maintain project and program tracking tools
Preferred Skills:
- Three to five (or more) years' work experience in designing, managing, and implementing EU-funded projects
- Proven experience in managing and executing complex projects from start to finish.

Strong organizational, project management, research and influential management skills
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken – other languages are an asset.
- Being able to set clear priorities and drive towards concrete results, based on consensus among a diverse membership.

Familiarity with and interest in health technology and health information technologies
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced and culturally diverse environment, with competing priorities and workloads.

- Having participated in the proposal writing and/or implementation of Horizon research projects
- Familiarity with the ICT and digital sector.
- Basic knowledge of data governance schemes including, data collection, data integrity and privacy.
